The CNA Code of Ethics addresses confidentiality, but nurses also have to be aware of how Ca-nadian privacy legislation affects nursing practice and the protection of client data.
The provincial standards of practice and the CNA Code of Ethics both address confidentiality.
The Privacy Act is a Federal legislative act that addresses privacy of personal information; it is not a code.
The Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) is also part of two legislative acts that address privacy of personal information; it is not a code.
