Echinacea is contraindicated in clients with diabetes, asthma, cancer, autoimmune disease, mul-tiple sclerosis, tuberculosis, leukemia, HIV/AIDS, lupus, or allergies to the daisy family, and should not be used for longer than eight weeks.
Headaches are not listed as a contraindication to taking echinacea. Headaches may be caused by taking valerian.
Gastrointestinal disturbance is not listed as a contraindication to taking echinacea. Gastrointesti-nal disturbance may be caused by taking valerian.
Taking oral contraceptives is not listed as a contraindication to taking echinacea. Oral contracep-tives may interact with saw palmetto.

A trochanter roll prevents external rotation of the hips when the client is in a supine position.
The footboard prevents footdrop by maintaining the feet in dorsiflexion.
