A decreased number of nerve conduction fibers resulting in slower reflexes, less flexibility of the lens resulting in decreased ability to focus on near objects, and atrophy of taste buds resulting in decreased ability to taste are all sensory changes that occur with aging. Regulation of body temperature is not a sensory deficit. Cerumen is drier and more solid with aging, creating hearing loss.

Introduce yourself and state the client's name each time you meet with him; wear a readable (large, plain type) nametag to reinforce your introduction.
