In addition, the hair should be free of debris and pediculosis, which are indicative of a head lice infestation. Pediculosis is unrelated to oral, musculoskeletal, or lower extremity assessments.

In newborns, cradle capscaly white patches over the scalp due to secretion of sebumis common. It can be removed with washing and gentle scrubbing.
