Answer to Question 1

A, B
As a nurse, you need to understand stress to help your clients cope effectively and adapt to the stressors of illness and caregiving. In addition, you will encounter many stressful situations in your own career, so you must develop healthful ways of responding. Nurses cannot alone balance the stress for a patient but rather assist the patient in identifying the stressors and adaptive responses that will fit for the patient. There are many adaptation strategies, but not all strategies will help all patients, as each patient is different.

Answer to Question 2

A, B
Nursing research is the systematic, objective process of analyzing phenomena of importance to nursing. Its purpose is to develop knowledge about issues that are important in nursing. An organized set of related ideas and concepts is a theory. Data reported in numbers is a quantitative research design used in nursing research however not all nursing research is quantitative research. Much of nursing research can be qualitative as well.
