Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Treatment with rifampin requires a CBC, liver enzymes, B12 and folate levels, and prothrombin time (PT) and international normalized ratio (INR) before and during therapy. Furthermore, PT and INR monitoring should be done more frequently because rifampin decreases the effective-ness of anticoagulants.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Ethambutol causes optic neuritis, which decreases ability to detect the colors red and green, and also decreases visual acuity.
