Overstimulation of muscarinic receptors results in increased gastrointestinal motility.
Overstimulation of muscarinic receptors results in involuntary urination, not urinary retention.
Overstimulation of muscarinic receptors does not result in mydriasis.
Overstimulation of muscarinic receptors results in bronchoconstriction, not vasoconstriction.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
Atropine is indicated for bradycardia.
Atropine has anticholinergic properties and is used to dry secretions and may cause urinary retention; therefore, it would not be indicated in this patient.
Atropine would not be indicated for a patient who is constipated because of its drying effects.
Atropine is not indicated for asthma.
