Answer to Question 1

ANS: A, C, D
Hemophilia is more common in males. The female carries this sex-linked recessive gene. The risk of acquiring hemophilia is shared by all races and ethnic groups.
Females typically are carriers but do not have hemophilia.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Doses should be spaced evenly throughout the day, because this provides the bone marrow with a continuous supply of iron, which maximizes RBC production.
GI upset typically would occur immediately if iron is taken on an empty stomach; taking iron with food can reduce stomach upset.
Black stools are expected with iron therapy.
Antacids have a drug-drug interaction with iron and reduce its absorption.
