Adverse effects of drugs for overactive bladder include chest pain, fast or irregular heart rate, shortness of breath, swelling (edema) and rapid weight gain, confusion, and hallucinations. Ad-ditionally, these drugs may cause decreased urination or no urine output, and painful or difficult urination. The dose should be held and the prescriber notified.
