Answer to Question 1

ANS: B
Zaleplon does not produce next day sedation or a hangover feeling and therefore would be the expected medication for the prescriber to order.
Zolpidem, flurazepam, and trazodone may cause next day sedation and/or a hangover feeling and therefore would not be appropriate for this patient.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
Trazodone is especially useful for treating insomnia resulting from the use of antidepressants that cause significant central nervous system stimulation.
Ramelteon is indicated for long-term therapy of insomnia.
Diphenhydramine and zolpidem are not indicated for antidepressant insomnia.
