Answer to Question 2

B
Assessment of the patient should include assessing for flulike symptoms, which often are adverse effects associated with interferon beta-1a.
Interferon beta-1a does not have the adverse effect of gastrointestinal symptoms.
Swelling in the legs and shortness of breath may indicate cardiotoxicity, which is seen most often with mitoxantrone, not interferon beta-1a.
Tinnitus is not an adverse effect of interferon beta-1a.
