Answer to Question 1

D
Children with severe hemophilia are primary candidates for prophylactic therapy with factor VIII, and this is given every other day or three times weekly with a goal of maintaining factor VIII activity above 1 of normal. On-demand therapy is indicated when patients are bleeding or are about to undergo surgery.

Answer to Question 2

A, C, D, E
Isoniazid, pyrazinamide, ethambutol, and rifabutin could be included in the treatment of a patient with HIV/AIDS. Rifampin is contraindicated as part of the new antituberculosis regimen, because it would reduce the effects of the protease inhibitors.
