Answer to Question 1

C
Tolvaptan is an oral vasopressin antagonist indicated for reducing hypernatremia in patients with euvolemic or hypervolemic hypernatremia. Conivaptan has the same indications, but it is admi-nistered IV for hospitalized patients. Desmopressin and vasopressin are antidiuretic hormone re-placement medications that will make the condition worse.

Answer to Question 2

B, C, E
Adverse effects of alpha blockade include reflex tachycardia, nasal congestion, and hypernatre-mia. Other adverse effects include orthostatic hypotension and inhibition of ejaculation. Hyper-tension and ejaculation are not adverse effects of alpha blockade.
