Answer to Question 1

C
Feedback:
If aluminum salts (AlternaGEL) are taken concurrently with sucralfate, a risk of high aluminum levels and related aluminum toxicity exists. The combination of sucralfate and aluminum salts should be avoided or used with extreme caution. Adverse reactions with sucralfate are not associated with Milk of magnesia, Tums, or proton pump inhibitors.

Answer to Question 2

A
Feedback:
The ester local anesthetics are broken down immediately in the plasma by enzymes known as plasma esterases. The amide local anesthetics are metabolized more slowly in the liver. Serum levels of these drugs can become elevated and lead to toxicity. Lidocaine is an amide and procaine is an ester.
