Answer to Question 1

B
Feedback:
With erythromycin, it is important to assess the patient's hearing. The loss of hearing is reversible with the discontinuation of the medication. Erythromycin does not typically affect renal function or circulation. The IV form has been associated with dysrhythmias, but this is not the case with the oral form.

Answer to Question 2

C
Feedback:
Corticosteroids impair phagocytosis by preventing phagocytic cells from leaving the bloodstream. They decrease the amount of lymphocytes, fibroblasts, and collagen needed for tissue repair. This causes a reduction in inflammation but a commensurate increase in the patient's risk for infection.
