D. Unscrubbed persons should always stay at least 1 foot away from the sterile field while keeping it in constant view and should contact only unsterile areas.
A and C. Sterile persons must keep their hands in view, above waist level, and below neckline to avoid contamination.
B. Gowns used by scrub persons must be sterile before donning. Once in place, gowns are considered sterile from the front chest and shoulders to table level and on the sleeves to 2 inches (5 cm) above the elbow.
