Answer to Question 1

The non-managed flow path of encapsulated ice storage systems does not offer repeatable performance. Because of this, there is a tendency for designers to oversize them. Also because of the design, encapsulated ice storage systems typically will use more glycol as compared to ice-on-coil systems.
