Answer to Question 1

Larger fan coil units are used to condition offices, stores, etc., where common air distribution is feasible. These resemble cabinets of self contained store conditioners.

Answer to Question 2

Compressor motors are suction gas cooled, and are protected with temperature and current sensitive overloads.
