Answer to Question 1

A scaffold is any one of a variety of types of temporary elevated platforms and their corresponding structure (supports, means of suspension, planking, etc.) used for supporting workers and materials at a distance above the ground. Scaffolding is a field within construction with a language of its own.

Answer to Question 2

Batteries should be charged in segregated areas designated just for battery charging. During the charging process, vent caps should be maintained in functioning condition to prevent electrolyte spray. Battery charging equipment must be protected from damage by moving equipment, industrial trucks, etc.
