Answer to Question 1

If any of the components are out of alignment, there can be major vibrations, causing failures and/or premature wear on the components.

Answer to Question 2

They operate at very high temperatures (800 C to 1,000 C) and require heavy heat shielding. Also, they cannot withstand heating and cooling cycles very well.
