 The effective career counselor must focus on how to provide each client with useful information that includes resources reflecting the ever-changing labor market. Current job search strategies must include labor market projections as well as current job descriptions.
 The fast-paced development of both hardware and software systems has created very attractively designed programs for different populations and for different purposes.
 The easily available, up to date career information on computer based programs gives counselors a very powerful tool to help meet the needs of many clients. Online assessment and interactive and interactive career guidance software systems have added greatly to the flexibility of programming.
