(1) A projected story: what will happen if we continue behaving in the way we have been
(2) An ideal story: if we change and act the way we should or really want to
(3) A new story: the interaction of the realistic components of the ideal story and the necessary
components of the past story

Describe the steps used in implementing the Story Model:
(1) define the controversy
(2) examine the controversy in light of past ways of values and beliefs
(3) examine current or emerging values and beliefs to understand the current controversy or call for
change
(4) begin to formulate a projected, ideal, and new story
