  • Learning disabilities are a disorder in one or more psychological process involved in understanding or using language (spoken or written)

  • Learning disabilities may manifest as an imperfect ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations

  • Learning disabilities include perceptual disabilities, brain injury, minimal brain dysfunction, dyslexia, and developmental aphasia


There is an exclusionary clause (a persons deficits are not due to environmental or other handicapping conditions)
