Greek farmers grow wheat corn, rice, grapes, olives, and citrus. They also raise sheep. Water is scarce in the Levant, but corn, fruit, tobacco, and nuts grow near the Black Sea. Grapes, figs, olives, cotton, and tobacco grow near the Aegean Sea. When irrigation is applied to the area near the Mediterranean Sea, citrus, sesame, bananas, oil, seeds, olives, and cotton are grown.
