  (1) 1,4-a-glucosidic linkages, (2) 1,6-a-glucosidic linkages, (3) salt bridges, (4) 1,4- and 1,6-a-glucosidic linkages, (5) van der Waals forces.

The Food and Drug Administration transferred the burden of proof from the government to industry. Industry now has to prove to the government that a food additive has been tested for safety, before the additive can be approved.
