Mountains dominate the northern regions of this area, and monsoons provide heavy rainfall. This rainfall allows for the growing of rice, which is the mainstay of this area's diet. The tropical and subtropical heat allows for numerous fruits and vegetables to be grown. Due to the proximity to the sea, fish are plentiful.
