Western RomanThe Western Roman Empire was formed in 284 CE when the Roman Empire was split in two and lasted until 493 CE. The Western Roman Empire covered the land from Rome to England. Its roads allowed easier access between areas and, thus promoted a blending of cuisine and a cultural exchange under the orderly government.

MughalThe Mughal Empire was established in 1526 by Babur and lasted until 1707; it included much of India from Bombay north into Afghanistan from the Indian Ocean to the Bay of Bengal. The Mughal rulers created graceful, airy buildings with distinctive arches and design. The Taj Mahal is the shining example of their architecture.

PersianAlso known as the Achaemenid Empire, the Persian Empire included Turkey, the Levant, Armenia, parts of Asia, and Mesopotamia. It was conqured in 331 CE by Alexander the Great.

Mycenean This civilization was a vast trading empire situated on the Mediterranean Sea. It existed for four centuries from 1500 BCE to 1100 BCE. It included the Greek Peloponnesus peninsula as well as Troy, Sicily, and Sardinia. It even extended its reach to the Baltic Sea and Britain.
