Answer to Question 1

Inhibits the action of T lymphocytes. Possible side effects: gum hyperplasia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and oral thrush.

Answer to Question 2

Decreases inflammation, mainly by stabilizing leukocyte lysosomal membranes. Also suppresses the immune response, stimulates bone marrow, influences protein breakdown, and causes CHO intolerance. Possible side effects include: peptic ulcer, GI irritation, increased appetite, hypokalemia, hyperglycemia, and muscle weakness.
