Answer to Question 1

Megace: An antineoplastic agent, but is frequently used for its side effects as in this case of increasing appetite. Can cause can cause diarrhea, flatulence, N&V, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, dry mouth, hepatomegaly, and increased salivation.

Lomitil: An antidiarrheal. Can cause can cause anorexia, flatulence, abdominal pain, paralytic ileus, and megacolon.

Donnatal Tablets: An antispasmodic medication used for irritable bowel. Side effects can include bloating, blurred vision, constipation, decreased sweating, difficulty sleeping, difficulty urinating, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, hives, impotence, muscular and bone pain, N&V, nervousness, and reduced sense of taste.

Kaopectate: Antidiarrheal. Should not be used with children that have flu-like symptoms or recovering from chicken-pox; can cause Reye's syndrome. Can cause N&V, constipation, and dry mouth.

Advil: NSAID. Can cause peptic or duodenal ulceration and GI bleeding, heartburn, N&V, anorexia, diarrhea, and constipation.

Answer to Question 2

Potent stimulator of the sympathetic nervous system, increases BP, stimulates the heart muscle, and relaxes bronchial smooth muscle. It also causes glycogen to be metabolized rapidly, thus causing a rise in blood sugar.
