Are there any vitamins or minerals in particular that need to be added to a hepatic TF? Explain your answer.

Question 2

If you were the dietitian who was going to counsel Mr. Y, list the foods mentioned above that would need to be eliminated from his diet.

Answer to Question 1

Most of the hepatic TF are low in electrolytes and thus need to be observed carefully for supplementation if they do drop. These formulas are not adequate in vitamins and minerals and supplementation is advised.



Answer to Question 2

Milk, cheese, ice cream, shell fish, dried fish, raw fish, soy sauce, seaweed, and salt.
