Answer to Question 1

ICP tends to continue to increase for about 72 hours post injury. During that time everything is done to try to keep down the CO2 level. Feeding would increase it.

Answer to Question 2

Statins, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, ompitively inhibit HMG-CoA reductase. This is the enzyme that catalyzes the early rate-limiting step in the synthesis of cholesterol; thus, it reduces total cholesterol, and LDL-C, and raises HDL-C. It also reduces triglycerides, VLDL, and apolipoprotein B.
