Answer to Question 1

Wt prior to pregnancy = 72.7kg = 160 lbs

Adjusted body weight = (actual body weight - IBW)  .25 + IBW
= (160 - 125)  .25 + 125
= 35  .25 +125
= 8.75 + 125 = 133.7 lbs

Answer to Question 2

Absorb water mostly, some electrolytes, and to act as storage area for waste until defecation.
