Answer to Question 1

Harris-Benedict equation for females:
BEE = 655 + 9.6 x wt + 1.7 x ht - 4.7 x age
= 655 + 9.6 x 44.5 + 1.7 x 162.6 - 4.7 x 21
= 655 + 427.2 + 276.4 - 98.7
= 655 + 604.9
= 1259.9 or 1260

The activity factor will very depending on your method of teaching and the student's perception but it should range between 1.3 and 1.5 . This would be equal to:
1260 x 1.3 = 1638 to 1260 x 1.5 = 1890

Answer to Question 2

A small MCV indicates a microcytic anemia.
