When TPN has not been infusing at the prescribed volume, the rate should not be altered primarily because of risk for:
 a. infection.
  b. circulatory overload.
  c. change in blood glucose levels.
  d. change in levels of serum triglycerides.

A client is receiving a continuous tube feeding. A medication is to be delivered enterally. The following intervention is appropriate for most medications:
 a. Administer medication through the Y-connection while the tube feeding continues to infuse.
  b. Flush the feeding tube with 15-30 milliliters of warm water before and after each drug administration.
  c. Crush tablets, including enteric-coated, and dissolve with small amount of water.
  d. Tablets are preferred because liquid forms of most drugs are hypertonic.
