Answer to Question 1

A
Parents can help children develop healthy eating patterns by teaching them to recognize and re-spond to internal hunger cues, to eat when they are hungry and stop when they are satisfied. Ex-ternal cues are not really hunger, but are more environmental influences that may cause overeat-ing if the child is not responsive to internal hunger cues. Children's food intake may vary greatly from day to day because variations in appetite are common. Children should not monitor their weight regularly; instead they should focus on healthy eating and exercise habits and trust their bodies to maintain a healthy weight.

Answer to Question 2

B
