Uncontrolled diabetes during pregnancy is associated with increased risk for miscarriages, stillbirth, macorsomia, obstetric complications, and intrauterine developmental and growth abnormalities. American Dietetic Association recommends that females limit caffeine to 300 mg/day because of health risks associated with intake higher than that. High intake of caffeine has been linked to delayed conception, miscarriage, and low birth weight.
