This client will need regular injections of vitamin B12 for as long as he or she lives. A vitamin supplement will not be adequate to meet the need for vitamin B12. Vitamins C and E can easily be obtained from the diet. Dehydration and skin changes are not associated with clients who have had a gastrectomy.
