Answer to Question 1

4
Rationale: Hydrogenation is the process by which unsaturated fats are made more saturated. This makes a better fat into a bad fat. Fats only contribute to weight gain insofar as they are consumed in excess and energy expenditure is less than caloric intake. All fats have nutritional value, although hydrogenated and saturated fats are less so than polyunsaturated. Fats do not affect blood clotting.

Answer to Question 2

C
Fructose, galactose, and glucose each consist of a single unit of carbohydrate and are therefore monosaccharides. Disaccharides consist of two carbohydrate units; polysaccharides and complex carbohydrates consist of several carbohydrate units.
