Sarah previously executed a power of attorney appointing her friend, Nancy, as her agent. Nancy has a copy of the power of attorney. Recently, Sarah and Nancy got into a huge fight. In fact, Sarah no longer trusts Nancy and does not think they will ever be friends again. What should Sarah do?

Answer to Question 1

Sarah should execute a revocation of power of attorney and provide it to all third parties who may have had a copy of the original document. It is also a good idea to record the revocation of power of attorney if Sarah is concerned that Nancy will misuse the original document.
