Sensitivity as it relates to the CART professional means that he or she is aware of the persons preferred communication mode; acquires training in communication techniques; is a member of organizations for the hard of hearing; should dress appropriately for the setting of the assignment; is aware of the role of the sign language interpreter; and takes into account the special needs of the CART consumer.
