Answer to Question 1

The notes are downloaded into the computer by having the computer read a disk or read a directly-hooked shorthand machine. Once read into the computer, the notes need to be translated.

Answer to Question 2

Input devices are the keyboard, the shorthand machine, etc.; output devices are the printer, the computer video screen, etc.
