Marianne had purchased a wedding gown, paid substantial deposits to a country club and band for the reception, bought pearl necklaces for her five bridesmaids, and ordered stationary with her married name on it to write thank you notes for wedding gifts. On the night before the wedding, Bill tells her he does not want to marry her and does not intend to show up at the wedding and is going on an extended vacation with a few of his friends including Marianne's former best friend, Sally. If Marianne sues Bill, which kind of relief might a court award?
