Helen is driving her car while texting. She mistakenly runs down Inga, who is a pedestrian walking through a crosswalk. William is driving his car behind Helen's. Not being able to avoid her because she is lying in the middle of the road, William also runs over poor Inga. Which of the following statements is true?
