Answer to Question 1

If Scott is to get his six-pack abs, the machine touted on the Internet won't help. In addition to the unreliability of Internet promotions, three problems become apparent to the educated consumer:
First, there is no such thing as spot reducing; therefore, the claims could not be true.
Second, five minutes of daily exercise burn hardly any calories and, therefore, have no effect on weight loss.
Third, the intended abdominal (gut) muscles would not really be involved during the exercise. The exercise would engage mostly the gluteal and lower back muscles.

Scott should learn how to put into practice a sound fitness and wellness program that emphasizes core training exercise instead. Many core exercises can be performed with no or inexpensive equipment.
