Acadian settlers brought with them the long lot system of land surveying, and French place names and architecture can also be seen in many places.

Cubans Push: Fidel Castro, Communism
Cubans Pull: Jobs, Family
Vietnamese Push: Chapter does not mention it, but students could mention the Viet-Nam War and resulting instability.
Vietnamese Pull: Jobs in a familiar industry (fishing)
