Answer to Question 1

Several decision making factors exist when bottling a wine. The considerations include: the wine bottle size and shape, how much sulfur to add (if any) and finally, the type of closure used to seal the bottle.

Answer to Question 2

The purpose of this question is to allow students to consider the advantages and disadvantages associated with physical and perpetual inventory systems. Advantages of using a physical inventory system in a restaurant include greater accuracy and, in many cases, increased awareness by managers of when product shortages are occurring.

Advantages of using a perpetual inventory system may include speed of record-keeping, reduced management effort in determining daily inventory values and the ability to maintain an accurate record of the frequency of product usage and turnover.
