Moroccan cuisine.
The Morccan diet is rooted in the cuisine of the Berber tribes. These were the
indigenous people of Morocco, also known as the Imazighen. Two other cultural
influences were the Arabs who invaded and conquered in 647 AD, and brought
with them their religion (Islam) and also their foods and cooking techniques. Later
the French controlled most of Morocco for the first half of the twentieth century.
They influenced the language but also their finesse in cooking and baking and their
love for good food.
