Answer to Question 1

Objectives are an unambiguous statement of what the learner will be able to do as a result of
some training. These can also be referred to as enabling objectives, which state what the team
member is going to learn that will enable him or her to perform a task. The stated objectives
include what facilities, tools, and equipment are to be used and the constraints under which the
objective is to be performed. The level of performance in terms of time, accuracy, and
completeness of the tasks is also described. The statement of objectives must also have
measurable attributes that should be observable in the team member upon completion of training.
If the objectives are inclusive in this manner, it is not possible to determine whether or not the
training program is meeting the stated objectives.
