Quality relates to the intended use of a product or service. The better a product can do what it is supposed to do, the better its quality.

Quality is important because customers demand it as they look for value while dining out. Quality standards identify and communicate product requirements to vendors. They are developed in recognition of what the establishment is trying to do to best serve customers. Quality standards are developed by carefully considering what customers want and exploring ways to incorporate these quality needs into products purchased.
