If you are highly extraverted, a career that involves leadership might be a good idea, and a highly agreeable person might enter a helping profession such as social work or nursing. Several other tests also measure career paths; the best known of these is Holland's RIASEC (1973), which measures six career types: realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional. These types overlap with the ORVIS for all but the last ORVIS category. The Holland scales and the ORVIS were written by different authors, so they differ in their categories and category labels. However, the two systems overlap more than they differ; they just use different names for the same types of careers (for example, leadership on the ORVIS equates to enterprising on the Holland).
